What you may ask have we been up to at Sharpa Photography? Well we are delighted to say that our Team has expanded dramatically and we can basically cover the whole of Scotland at the touch of a button!

Sharpa Photography are delighted to announce the appointment of Simon Forsyth in Glasgow. Simon will be responsible for commercial and Wedding Photography in the Glasgow and West Lothian Regions. Simon is also the new Regional Manager for Scotland.

We look forward to providing our Clients with continued first class digital images.

Fantastic Wedding celebrations took place in Boat of Garten - Sharpa Photography were on full duty and took over 450 images of the fun and happiness on the day.

Sharpa Photography in Glasgow and Edinburgh have been very busy leading up to Christmas. Bookings for Weddings, celebration parties & events very much in the frame.

Our focus is to make sure as always that everything goes smoothly with a delivery service second to none - we mean it!

Edinburgh, Glasgow, Ayrshire, Aberdeen, Inverness - we are all over Scotland now! Some new photographers on board too.

Weddings, Portraits, Commercial Photography & Special occasions books have been the main purchases this month so far.

Crickey that was a quick September! We have had a good start to October with bookings coming in for Weddings in 2010 and 2011 as well as Canvas portraiture and special occasions books for Birthdays, Anniversaries & Architecture. Company Calendars for 2010 top the shopping lists.

We are in negotiation with several photographers in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Glasgow and now Ayr as we are now expanding into all regions of Scotland.

We are developing a very expensive high end design Wedding service just now with a strong emphasis on Creative Flair. This will be a very detailed and expensive service and is definitely not for those with a non bulging bank account or weak hearts !!

We look forward to producing photographs to suit all budgets and all markets. Watch this space - Launching before the end of this year.

We would like to say that we really enjoyed the time we spent with one couple whose spirit regarding life and what it throws at us, despite not having an easy time of it with health problems, was very rewarding and humbling. More portraits and several Wedding bookings - it is looking good for next year.

Portrait, Wedding bookings, Website image and product shots as well as Web content writing and maintenance - it has been a busy old two weeks. The commercial work is showing signs of coming back which is great because we really enjoy the building / architecture photography and especially we love photographing for Ferrari, Maserati and Bentley - work did I say work?!

Thanks to all our supporters and in particular I want to thank Kathryn Thomas and Louise Roberts who have been the best supporters you could ever ask for.

It has been a busy Month with an Agency in London booking us for a photoshoot in Glasgow and plenty of Family portraits with editing going on in the new editing studio.

We also moved in to our new operations office at 60A Constitution Street, Leith in Edinburgh. From here we edit do our sales calls and administration duties.

Sharpa support grows and is moving in the right direction but we want more - more business more happy faces more work - so don't hesitate to ask us to help you!

Our May holiday presented an opportunity for a visit to Newton Stewart and the good fortune of being able to stay in a house on a cliff with a short walk down to the beach. Stunning!

Below is just one of the immaculately maintained Country Estates which offer beautiful garden walks - this one has a Castle in its grounds too!! Fantastic wildlife also - just heavenly.

April has been a good month for us so far and business is picking up again. We have just completed a number of portraits shoots and have been commissioned to take some products shots of custom made designer items for a web shop soon to be launched on line.

April started off on a high with a couple of Wedding enquiries and a couple of Portrait bookings. Also quite a reasonable amount of Commercial website photography and digital image enhancements for brochures.

The albums above are the most popular choice for couples because they are robust and an easy size to deal with. Also the mounts are really good.

Our last two Brides have been delighted with them and the testimonials they sent to us were very generous - thank you.

Looking forward to another booming April.

January is long gone and was in fact the busiest month in the life of our business! Crazy times - makes no sense but we will take it whilst it is offered to us.

February has gone a bit quiet but we are busy with digital repairs to images and edits for a couple of Edinburgh Agencies. (Snapped the photos above on 11th February near Edinburgh.)

We have had Ten wedding inquiries three this month already - so we will keep our heads down and stay positive.

Also doing three website photoshoot's for some of our old Clients in Ayrshire who are very loyal.

Well - interesting start to the year with 5 Website Wedding quotes going out (A Record for us in a week), one Party and two Portraits. Also one commercial job including a 360 panorama.

Our new mini brochure is being released now and focuses on the Portrait side of our business. We feel really quite optimistic for 2009 right now.

We look forward to growing our business further in 2009 and we are now looking for an associate photographer to be based in Glasgow permanently.

We have just secured two more Weddings for December 2008, one on the 28th and one on the 29th! It seems that people want to start the New Year as Happily married couples and why not we wish them all the best.

We have completed the photographs for Florists "Flowers Inc" in Edinburgh.

We were very pleased to be selected by a cherished private client to do Reportage photography of his Son's engagement party and to receive a thank you e-mail after the event from a Man of few words - "Had a look at the pictures, they are all really good!" praise indeed.

Also we have secured a Venue where they will be using Sharpa exclusively for Graduation and Ball Photographs. We will be printing out our shots on the night.

Not an easy time for everybody especially small businesses. We seem to be ticking along having secured yet another Wedding at the end of December and several commercial shoots for seminars, functions and Networking events.

We launch our new mini brochure later on this month and hope that this will work well to encourage the Christmas market to purchase Gift vouchers for Portraits of their loved ones.

We'd like to thank all of our customers this year for their kind words and letters of thanks and encouragement - it does make a difference.

Although we are allegedly in a recession we have had a busy month with a variety of different contracts coming to fruition. Portraits, Brochure work, action shots and a video shoot. Not our best month but not our worst either.

We have been adding some new photos to all areas of our site - enjoy below four images from the nature section.

We have had a lot of meetings this month and the forecast looks promising for the next couple of months.

Our new business Launch has come at the right time because it has actually given us our busiest month to date! We continue to do work photographing properties, some portraits for an up and coming Irish Company and one very secret mission which is going to be a huge success. Our thanks go to www.fortunetwork.com as this has given us a fantastic platform to pitch to business owners whom we have not met before.

September started with commissions for Commercial buildings for sale, Private house sales photography and an add on - namely taking images from Ninety two feet in the air to complete the brief !! We are working with a Company who specializes in these elevated images.

We are off to do some outdoor shots from Calton Hill for a Company in Ireland which should be interesting.

www.fortunetwork.com our new secondary business is booming and we have made a lot of new and valuable contacts from this.

I took some new shots and have tagged all images in case someone tries to steal them. (See below.)

A tough month for lots of people in business but actually we have performed above average. One Wedding, some portraiture work, outdoor shots, some building shots, two website developments and a very busy network which is going form strength to strength. It's all good but we want more - watch this space.

The climate has been decidedly challenging for a lot of our business customers and we have not taken a single thing for granted. The work has been flowing in steadily to us, a couple of Weddings, some portrait sittings for private Clients, some building shots, a couple of website headers and footers and a major International Client in the UK. So we are doing OK actually. On top of this we have launched or own branded Business Network Fortunetwork and it is going like a steam train with a huge attendance for our launch!

We have just received a call from www.ecossetravel.com asking us to photograph their Prestige Vehicle fleet and supply images for their Marketing and Website campaigns. This is one of Scotland's leading Chauffeur drive operators, specializing in Airport transfers and guided Tours. We are delighted to be selected for this work.

Having organized and completed a fabulous wedding day at Edinburgh Castle for an American couple we were all equally delighted with the finished results. The testimonial we have received from this couple has made all the hard work worthwhile and very rewarding. More work for Clients onto Canvases and some building shots see an end to a good month for us. At last we have progressed this month on the promotional side of our business and will be releasing our new mini brochure in August 2008. (Request a brochure - rod@sharpa.co.uk)

It has been an interesting couple of weeks. Sharpa Business is working with two new Clients. The first Client is setting up a completely new MOT Center in the heart of Edinburgh and Sharpa is doing the master Business Plan. The second is a florist Flowers Inc. and Sharpa Photography is tasked with taking the photographs for the website as well as shots for their magazine advertising. One of our existing major blue chip Clients has returned to ask Sharpa to take more Architecture and general building shots. Finally Sharpa is in negotiation with a Fashion House in Ayrshire and a Model Agency in Glasgow.

We have just received a call from America and yes from an American couple, asking us at Sharpa Photography if we would like be the photographers at their wedding! Of course we said yes! They found us via the Internet. It has been a steady month for us with photography of luxury cars, buildings, flowers, weddings, Graduates and finally a booking for a big party next month. On the Sharpa Business side we have 3 new Clients all start ups. We will be working on these together with our colleagues. We seem to be thriving in what is a difficult business climate - so thank you to all of our customers.

It was a pleasure to photograph KT Tunstall for The Hardrock cafe and at the same time we really enjoyed listening to her live performance, She was superb live. We are so very chuffed at Sharpa Photography to have been entrusted with this photoshoot which started at 1.00pm and completed at 11.15 pm. We edited as we shot the photos and this meant that our Clients got stunning edited images sent to their Agencies at 2.00 a.m. in the Morning. It was a triumph for us! So "Calling all Agencies" give us more work - we promise to rise to the challenge! Testimonial from Client will follow.

Our new video Testimonial service designed for the web is now available and we have several Clients whom we are working with already. Not only is a testimonial a very powerful marketing tool but also it is useful for promoting yourself as well as Clients. Why not invite your Clients to support you and tell the world what experience they had when buying your Companies services. In this clip the testimonial promotes the Actor, the Show and the venue. Think about it!

It has been a busy week for us at Sharpa with 3 more bookings for weddings as well as two video and 3 Portraits toping the charts. Orders from one of my favorite Clients Graypaul just keep coming in - our sincere thanks to them for their continued support. Thanks to Solas for selecting our Sister company JMS Business Development to assist with their business plan, Logo and Branding issues - we expect great things to come of this. It has been a superb week all round.

May is here already! We have just spent a week in Skye where we photographed wonderful Landscapes, flowers and wildlife. (Soon to be published.)
Contracts keep coming in and we look forward to a fashion shoot in and around Edinburgh, Iconic 360 Panoramic photographs of buildings to be taken in and around Glasgow, Wedding and special occasions bookings, 3 Launches for next month and various Portraits.
On the video side we have several video testimonials to complete and a Major Launch. So it's full steam ahead!
On the business development front we are working closely with 8 Clients developing Two new Business concepts, Three Websites, Two Brochures and personal development issues. Thanks again to all our supporters and in particular my colleagues at www.fortunetwork.com

April continues to see steady growth for the Sharpa business. The optimizing of the site has quickly produced 3 Wedding bookings within the first two weeks. Big News - an important addition to the team is Associate Bill Crawford who brings with him 14 years of Wedding experience. Bill will responsible for the Weddings side in partnership with Rod who will be shooting the casual images - both men therefore in their element and continuing to produce great results for Clients. More work from Elaine Grossart who is promoting Melissa Piper (GB Ladies number two Skiing Champion - who is both talented and stunning!) watch this site for progress. Of course some great jobs for Graypaul Ferrari and Bentley this month with a variety of orders from web shots to Canvases. I love this job! Also GVA Grimley who have placed more orders with us for general building shots and Portraits. Andrew Crow continues to develop the video side and has completed a number of video testimonials for Clients to use on their Websites. We are also on the brink of a major video deal - details to follow when contract is signed. Lamborghini Edinburgh Launch The president and CEO of Lamborghini Stephan Winkelmann and Garry Bagley (MD) of Lamborghini Edinburgh unveiled the new, absolutely stunning, Lamborghini Gallardo to an appreciative audience who filled the Edinburgh Showroom to capacity. It is without a doubt in an elite group of the most stunning cars in the World. The sound of the engine gets your blood racing almost as fast as the revs rise when you tap the cars accelerator pedal. Not good for the weak hearted - and that raw ripping sound that rightly states "I am King of the Car World" - just incredible.

It has been a great start to the year for us and it isn't slowing down. April bookings for Portraiture have started at 47 Corporate sessions and two Private sessions, one private session for Mark Thomson already completed and in edit and one for a Client with three delightful Bunnies - yes that's right - Rabbits. Boy what challenges we are faced with at times but we love it really. Watch out for the next News item - Lamborghini Edinburgh Launch 3rd April - pics to follow.

Rod received a call from the Peter Potter Gallery to say that Local students who were working on a "Mussel-In Student Project," had selected two of his images which were hanging in the Gallery. The Students wanted to use them as inspiration for a play that they were writing using the photographs to express how life is viewed through the eyes of the younger generation in East Lothian. Said Rod "It is a real boost to me that these young Students thought my work was worth selecting. It was great to talk to them about the images and what they meant to me. I salute their project and look forward to seeing the end result. I hope to be invited to see the play in due course. Isn't it great that the older students have involved the younger students - I congratulate them for their enthusiasm and creativity and wish them all the very best for the future."

March has started off where February began with some great orders to keep us on the up and up. Thanks to GVA Grimley for their support and orders. Also to Lamborghini Edinburgh for their commission on a presentation album which will be presented to Lamborghini in Italy. Thanks also to Bill Todd for a portrait commission and video testimonial as well as his ongoing encouragement. Finally to Douglas Milliken who has completed the design of our leaflet and it is absolutely stunning.

We have been really busy on location this month and still the orders are flowing in. Despite this we have just completed an overhaul of the website adding a general gallery section to our website which holds another 10 sub headings for you to peruse.
We have received many generous compliments from the Farming community who want to see more livestock photographs, something which we intend to develop with the input of the experts in that field! (No pun intended.)
Thanks to Andrew Crow for his input and video cuts. Finally a big thank you to Malcolm Laurie who continually supports us and allows us to tap into his vast human technical knowledge library.

The second half of February 2008 has been incredible, smashing all records with more orders rolling in including Company Portraits for Azur, several Video testimonials for websites and lots of Photography work for the commercial sector. A Special thanks to Lamborghini and Promise for Businesss. Finally many, many, congratulations to Mr & Mrs Stewart Jamieson - what a fantastic Wedding - stay happy together and we wish you both much prosperity in life.

February is a rockin' and a rollin'! Already we have orders for 103 Portraits, plus several private client canvas orders. On the Commercial side we are delighted to be working for the first time with a top Glasgow Agency and have been contracted to complete the photography for Twelve Restaurants in Scotland. We had a brilliant time at the Lamborghini Launch photographing Scotland's former World Champion F1 driver - Sir Jackie Stewart - (whose speech was totally captivating.) We were further honored to receive his own book signed by him. To add to the party we are about to Launch a new video service and welcome Andrew Crow on board who will be solely responsible for this side of the business. January has been a really busy month so far! We have one new wedding booked for June 2008, 3 Portraits ( - two personal and one Business Portrait) Two product launches (one for Ferrari and one for Lamborghini) plus five Commercial Client photo days for brochures and websites.

We have just completed the photoshoot for the Launch of the new Ferrari F430 which was a huge success today - 23rd November 2007. Rod got up the next day at 4.00 a.m.! and had completed developing and editing all of the required images. Sharpa Photography had a double celebration when The Peter Potter Gallery in Haddington accepted 24 pieces of Rod's work for public viewing in their Gallery. The photographs will be exhibited from November 2007.

Following a meeting with Rod Jamieson of Sharpa Photography, The Robyn Rowles Gallery, 23 Howe Street, Edinburgh has selected photographs from Rod's collection and an exhibition will be running throughout the month of October 2007.
